and follow the instru ctions above for each ind icated
problem .

faster, with the transm ission in N (Neutral) until the light
goes off.
NOTE: When the ignition switch is turned to OFF, the
fuel gage, voltm eter, oil pressu re, and tem peratu re gages
will not show any read ings. When the engine is not
running, turn the ignition switch to ON to obtain accu-
rate read ings.
14. Temperature Gage
Ind icates engine coolant tem peratu re. Any read -
ing within the norm al range ind icates that the
cooling system is operating satisfactorily.

The gage pointer will likely ind icate a higher tem peratu re
(above center scale) when driving in hot weather, up
mountain grad es, or when tow ing a trailer. It shou ld not
be allow ed to exceed the upper limits of the norm al
operating range.

Part Time Indica tor Light
This light alerts the driver that the vehicle is in
the PART TIME four–wheel drive mode, and
the front and rear driveshafts are mechanically
locked together forcing the front and rear wheels to rotate
at the sam e speed .
If the pointer rises to the 260° (Hot) mark, pull over and
stop the vehicle. Do not turn the engine off. Idle the
vehicle with the air cond itioning turned off, until the
pointer drop s back into the norm al range.

Transmission Over Temperature Warning Light
This light ind icates that there is excessive transm is-
sion fluid tem peratu re that might occur with severe
usage such as trailer tow ing or snow plowing. If this light
