Engin e Coolan t Disp osal
Used ethylene glycol-based engine coolant is a regu lated
substance requ iring prop er disposal. Check with you r
local authorities to determ ine the disposal rules for you r
community. Do not store ethylene glycol-based engine
coolant in open containers or allow it to rem ain in
puddles on the grou nd . Prevent ingestion by anim als and
child ren. If ingested by a child , contact a physician
immediately. Clean up any grou nd spills immediately.
Check the front of the rad iator for any accumulation of
bugs, leaves, etc. Clean the rad iator by gently spraying
water from a gard en hose at the back of the core.
Check the engine cooling system hoses for cond ition and
tightness of connection. Insp ect the entire system for
leaks. Any hoses that show cuts or severe abrasion must
be rep laced .

Sched ule,” the system shou ld be drained , flushed , and
refilled .
Use only the manu factu rer’s recom mend ed coolant, refer
to Recom mend ed Fluids, Lubricants, and Genu ine Parts
for correct coolant typ e.
If the solu tion is dirty and contains a consid erable
amount of sed iment, clean and flush with reliable cooling
system cleaner. Follow with a thorou gh rinsing to rem ove
all deposits and chem icals.
