Fluid Level Check
7.
Check for leaks. Release parking brake.
Insp ect the transfer case for fluid leaks. If a fluid leak is
found , the transfer case fluid level can be checked by
rem oving the filler plug located on the back side of the
transfer case. The fluid level shou ld be at the bottom edge
of the filler plug hole when the vehicle is in a level
position.
To prevent dirt and water from entering the transm ission
after checking or rep lenishing fluid, make certain that the
dipstick cap is prop erly reseated . It is norm al for the
dipstick cap to spring back slightly from its fully seated
position, as long as its seal rem ains engaged in the
dipstick tube.
Adding Fluid
Add fluid at the filler hole until it runs out of the hole
when the vehicle is in a level position.
