THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING  YOUR VEHICLE
1.

You  shou ld  read   the  instru ctions   provid ed  with   you r
child restraint   to make sure  that you  are using  it prop erly.
Infants  in rear  facing child  restraints  shou ld NEVER  rid e
in the  front  seat of a vehicle  with  a passenger   airbag.  An
airbag  deplyment   could   cause  severe  injury  or death   to
infants  in  that position.
2.  All occupants   shou ld use  their lap  and  shou lder  belts
prop erly.

The driver  and  front passenger   seats shou ld  be moved
back as  far as practical  to  allow the  front airbags  room  to
inflate.
Child ren  that  are  not  big  enou gh to  prop erly  wear  the
vehicle  seat  belt shou ld  be secured   in the  rear  seat,  in a
child   restraint   or   belt-p ositioning   booster   seat.   Old er
child ren   who   do    not   use   child   restraints     or   belt-
positioning   booster   seats  shou ld  rid e prop erly  buckled
up  in  the  rear   seat.  Never   allow  child ren  to  slide  the
shou lder  belt behind   them  or und er  their  arm .

If you r vehicle  has  wind ow bags,  do  not  lean against
the  door  or  wind ow,  airbags  will  inflate  forcefu lly  into
the  space betw een  you  and  the door.
If a  child  from  1 to  12 years  old  must   rid e in the  front
passenger   seat becau se the  vehicle  is crow ded, move  the
seat  as  far  back  as  possible,   and  use  the   prop er  child
restraint.  See  “Child  Restraint”  in  this  section.
