to turn this featu re on or off. Also, refer to “Wind shield
Wipers and Washers” in this section for more inform ation
interior lights on. Rotating the control to the “Off”
(extrem e bottom ) position disables all the interior lights,
even when the doors and liftgate are open. While in the
“Off” position the instru ment panel lighting is at the
lowest light level and may not be suitable for night
driving.
NOTE: When you r head lights come on during the
daytim e, the instru ment panel lights will autom atically
dim to the lower nighttim e intensity. Refer to “Instru -
ment Panel and Interior Lights” below for setting the
instru ment panel lights to full daytim e intensity.
Daytime Running Lights — Canada Only
The head lights come on at a low intensity level whenever
the engine is running. The lights rem ain on until the
ignition switch is turned OFF or the parking brake is
engaged . The head light switch must be used for norm al
night time driving.
Instrument Panel and Interior Lights
When the multi-function control lever is in the parklight,
head lights, or AUTO position (if equ ipped), rotating the
center portion of the lever up and down will increase and
decrease the brightness (dimmer control) of the instru -
ment panel lights. Full daytim e brightness on all elec-
tronic displays (odometer, overhead console, rad io, and
Autom atic Climate Control (if equ ipped) is obtained by
rotating the center portion of the control to the first
detent above the dimmer range. Rotating the control to
the second detent above the dimmer range turns the
Lights-On Reminder
If the head lights or parking lights are on after the ignition
is turned OFF, a chim e will sou nd when the driver’s door
is opened .
