Alignment and Balance
TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM — IF
EQUIPPED
The suspension components of you r vehicle shou ld be
insp ected and aligned when need ed, to obtain maxim um
tire tread life.
The Tire Pressu re Monitor System (TPM) monitors the
pressu re in all 4 road tires and the full size spare (5 Tire
TPM System Only). The TPM system uses wireless
technology to monitor tire pressu re levels. Sensors,
mounted to each wheel as part of the valve stem , transm it
tire pressu re read ings to a receiver located in the over-

for prop er diagnosis of the problem .

Refer to “Overhead Console” in Section 3 for more
inform ation. The TPM system functions even when the
EVIC is not set on the tire pressu re display screen.
The TPM system inform s you of a low or high tire
pressu re cond ition. If this occurs, correct you r tire infla-
tion pressu re as soon as possible, and insp ect all of you r
tires. Be sure to use a high quality gau ge when adjusting
pressu re. The TPM system is designed to monitor you r
tire pressu re but will not function as a tire pressu re
Improp er alignm ent will not norm ally cause vehicle
vibration, which may be a resu lt of tire and wheel
out-of-balance. Prop er balancing will red uce vibration
and avoid tire cupping and spotty wear.
