Tire Inflation Pressures
Improp er inflation pressu res can cause uneven wear
patterns to develop across the tire tread . These abnorm al
wear patterns will red uce tread life resu lting in a need for
earlier tire rep lacem ent. Und er inflation also increases
tire rolling resistance and resu lts in higher fuel consu mp-
tion.
The prop er cold tire inflation pressu re for passenger cars
is listed on either the face of the driver’s door or the
driver’s side “B” pillar. For vehicles other than passenger
cars, the cold tire inflation pressu res are listed on either
the “B” pillar or the Certification Label.

Ride Comfort and Vehicle Stabilit y—
Prop er tire inflation contribu tes to a comfortable rid e.
Over inflation prod uces a jarring and uncom fortable rid e.
Both und er inflation and over inflation affect the stability
of the vehicle and can prod uce a feeling of sluggish
resp onse or over resp onsiveness in the steering.
Unequ al tire pressu res can cause erratic and unp red ict-
able steering resp onse.
Unequ al tire pressu re from side to side may cause the
vehicle to drift left or right.
