TRAILER TOWING
To maintain warranty coverage, follow the requ irem ents
and recom mend ations in this manu al concerning ve-
hicles used for trailer tow ing.
In this section you will find inform ation on limits to the
typ e of tow ing you can reasonably do with you r vehicle.
And you will find safety tips. Before tow ing a trailer
carefu lly review this inform ation to tow you r load as
efficiently and safely as possible.
Perform maintenance services as prescribed in the appro-
priate “Maintenance Sched ule.” Refer to Section 8 of this
manu al. When you r vehicle is used for trailer tow ing,
never exceed the gross axle weight rating (GAWR) by the
addition of:
The factory-installed Class III and Class IV Trailer Tow
Packages inclu de a fram e mounted recep tacle and the

essary provisions for connecting an afterm arket electric
brake controller. It is a light blue wire, identified with a
tag, located und er the instru ment panel behind the brake
pedal. Other equ ipment, such as trailer sway controls
and braking equ ipment, trailer equ alizing (leveling)
equ ipment and low profile mirrors, may also be requ ired
or strongly recom mend ed.
