tween the fingertip s.

ing tem peratu re. Verify that solid coating of oil is seen on
both sides of the dipstick. If the fluid is low, add as
requ ired into the dipstick tube. Do not overfill. After
adding any quantity of oil throu gh the oil fill tube, wait
a minim um of two (2) minu tes for the oil to fully drain
into the transm ission before rechecking the fluid level.
To check the autom atic transm ission fluid level prop erly,
the follow ing proced ure must be used :

Operate the engine at idle speed and norm al operating
tem peratu re.
NOTE: If it is necessary to check the transm ission below
the operating tem peratu re, the fluid level shou ld be
betw een the two “COLD” (lower) holes on the dipstick
with the fluid at approxim ately 70°F (21°C) (room tem -
peratu re). If the fluid level is correctly established at
room tem peratu re, it shou ld be betw een the “HOT” 7
(upper) reference holes when the transm ission reaches

Fully apply the parking brake and press the brake
pedal.

Place the gear selector momentarily in each gear
