autom atically using the heating system . Shou ld the de-
sired comfort level requ ire air cond itioning, the system
will autom atically make the adjustm ent.
Manual Operation
However, this system does offer a full complement of
manu al overrid e featu res. There is a manu al blow er
range used when the AUTO setting is not desired . The
left control can be set to any fixed blow er speed by
rotating the knob from LO to HI on the upper portion of
the dial.
You may notice the blow er speed getting lower as the
difference betw een the driver and passenger tem peratu re
settings gets larger. This is an extrem e cond ition and the
airflow may not perform as anticip ated .
The operator can overrid e the AUTO mode setting and
select the direction of the air by rotating the right mode
knob to one of the follow ing positions.
The tem peratu re can be displayed in U.S. or Metric by
selecting the US/ M custom er program mable featu re.
Refer to the “Overhead Console-Cu stom er Program -
mable Featu res” in Section 3 of this manu al.
• DefrostAir is directed to the wind shield throu gh the
outlets at the base of the wind shield .
The left knob controls the blow er fan. Within the AUTO
setting on this control, you can select a HI volu me of air
from the blow er or a LO volu me. Once the system is set
up for you r comfort level, it is not necessary to change
the setting. You will experience the greatest efficiency by
simply allow ing the system to function autom atically.
• Defrost /Floor
Air flows throu gh the front and rear floor outlets
and the outlets at the base of the wind shield .
