If the belts need cleaning, use a mild soap solu tion or
lukew arm water. Do not rem ove the belts from the
vehicle to wash them .
WARN ING!
Do not use volatile solven ts for clean ing purposes.
Many are poten tially flam mable, and if used in
closed areas they may cause resp iratory harm . Do not
use gasolin e, turpentin e, kerosen e, etc. for clean ing.
Use the Mopar recom mended prod ucts or the
equivalen ts.
Replace the belts if they appear frayed or worn or if the
buckles do not work prop erly.
Main ten ance After Off-Pavem ent Drivin g
After extend ed operation in mud, sand or water, or
similar dirty cond itions, have you r brake drums, brake
linings, and axle joints insp ected and cleaned as soon as
possible. This will prevent any abrasive material from
causing excessive wear or unp red ictable braking action.
Carp et
Vacuum you r carp et regu larly to prevent a soil build-up.
Sham poo soiled carp et with a reliable upholstery cleaner,
using a natu ral sponge or soft bristle bru sh. After carp et
dries, vacu um it thorou ghly.
Follow ing off-pavem ent usage, completely insp ect the 7
und erbod y of you r vehicle. Check tires, bod y stru cture,
steering, suspension and exhau st system for damage.
Check thread ed fasteners for looseness, particu larly on
the chassis, drivetrain components, steering and suspen-
sion. Retighten, if requ ired , to torqu e valu es specified in
the Service Manu al. Also check for accumulations of
Seat Belt Main ten ance
Do not bleach, dye or clean the belts with chem ical
solvents or abrasive cleaners. This will weaken the fabric.
Sun damage will also weaken the fabric.
