Sudden loss of visib ility throu gh the windshield
could lead to an accid ent. You migh t not see oth er
veh icles or oth er obstacles. To avoid sudden icin g of
the windshield durin g freezin g weath er, warm the
windshield with defroster before and durin g wind-
shield wash er use.
Turn the windshield wipers off when drivin g
throu gh an autom atic car wash . Damage to the
windshield wipers may resu lt if the wiper switch is
left in any position oth er than OFF.
Intermittent Wiper System
Use the interm ittent wiper when weather cond itions
make a single wiping cycle with a variable pause be-
tween cycles desirable. Rotate the end of the multi-
function lever to the first detent position, and then turn
the end of the lever to select the desired delay interval.
There are six delay settings, which allow you to regu late
the wipe interval from a minim um of one cycle every
second to a maxim um of approxim ately 23 second s
betw een cycles.
Mist Feature
Push the multi-function lever inw ard (tow ard the steer-
ing column) to the first detent to activate a single wipe
cycle to clear off road mist or spray from a passing
vehicle. The wipers will continu e to operate until you
release the lever.
Windshield Washers
To use the washer, push the multi-function lever inw ard
(tow ard the steering column) to the second detent and
hold it for as long as washer spray is desired .
If you activate the washer while the wind shield wiper
control is in the delay range, the wipers will operate for
