THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
system is not arm ing. Also, if you open a door during the
arm ing period , the system will cancel the arm ing process.
If you wish to rearm the system after closing the door,
you must rep eat one of the previou sly described arm ing
sequ ences.
The Vehicle Security Alarm system is designed to protect
you r vehicle; how ever, you can create cond itions where
the system will give you a false alarm . If one of the
previou sly described arm ing sequ ences has occurred , the
system will arm regard less of whether you are in the
vehicle or not. If you rem ain in the vehicle and open a
door, the alarm will sou nd . If this occurs, disarm the
system .
To Disarm the System:
Either press the UNLOCK button on the rem ote keyless
entry transm itter or insert a valid sentry key into the
ignition lock cylind er and turn the key to the ON/ START
position.
If the alarm system is arm ed and the battery becom es
disconnected the system will rem ain arm ed when the
battery is reconnected . The exterior lights will flash, the
horn will sou nd , and the ignition will not start the
vehicle. If this occurs, disarm the system .
NOTE:
•
The driver’s door key cylind er and the tru nk button on
the keyless entry transm itter cannot arm or disarm the
system .
Tamper Alert
If som ething has triggered the system in you r absence,
the horn will sou nd three times when you disarm the
system . Check the vehicle for tam pering.

The system rem ains arm ed during tru nk entry. Press-
ing the tru nk button will not disarm the system . If
som eone enters the vehicle throu gh the tru nk and
opens any door the alarm will sou nd .

When the system is arm ed, the interior power door
lock switches will not unlock the doors.
