Press and hold the compass button for approxim ately
second s.

Press the SCROLL button until “Calibrate Com pass”
displays in the EVIC.

Press and release the FUNCTION SELECT button to
start the calibration. The message “CAL” will display in
the EVIC.

Com plete one or more 360° turns (in an area free from
large metal or metallic objects) until the “CAL” message
turns off. The compass will now function norm ally.
Com pass Varian ce
Com pass Variance is the difference betw een magnetic
North and Geograp hic North. In som e areas of the
country, the difference betw een magnetic and geograp hic
North is great enou gh to cause the compass to give false
read ings. If this occurs, the compass variance must be set
using the follow ing proced ure:
NOTE: Magnetic materials shou ld be kep t away from
the overhead console. This is where the compass sensor is
located .
