issu es. In these cases, ACC may brake late or unexp ect-
edly. The driver need s to stay alert and may need to
intervene.
Turns and Bends
In turns or bend s, ACC may detect a vehicle ahead too
late or too early. This may cause you r vehicle to brake late
or unexp ected ly. Give extra attention in curves and be
read y to apply the brakes if necessary. Be sure to select an
approp riate speed while driving in curves.
Offset Drivin g
ACC may not detect a vehicle in the sam e lane that is
offset from you r direct line of travel. There will not be
sufficient distance to the vehicle ahead . The offset vehicle
may move in and out of the line of travel, which can
cause you r vehicle to brake or accelerate unexp ected ly.
ACC may occasionally provid e braking and / or a driver
alert that you consid er unnecessary. This may be the
system ’s resp onse to signs, guard rails, and other station-
ary objects in a curve. This is norm al operation and you r
