Tire Pressure Monit oring Telltale Light — If
Please note that the TPMS is not a substitu te for prop er
tire maintenance, and it is the driver ’s resp onsibility to
maintain correct tire pressu re, even if und er-inflation has
not reached the level to trigger illumination of the TPMS
low tire pressu re telltale.
Each tire, inclu ding the spare (if provid ed),

The Tire Pressu re Monitoring Telltale Light will illumi-
nate in the instru ment cluster, and an audible chim e will 4
be activated when one or more tire pressu res is low. The
Tire Pressu re Monitoring Telltale Light will flash on and
off for 60 second s when a system fault is detected . The

vehicle placard or tire inflation pressu re label. (If you r
vehicle has tires of a different size than the size
ind icated on the vehicle placard or tire inflation pres-
sure label, you shou ld determ ine the prop er tire
inflation pressu re for those tires.)
As an added safety featu re, you r vehicle has been
equ ipped with a tire pressu re monitoring system (TPMS)
that illuminates a low tire pressu re telltale when one or
more of you r tires are significantly und er-inflated . Ac-
cord ingly, when the low tire pressu re telltale illuminates,
you shou ld stop and check you r tires as soon as possible,
and inflate them to the prop er pressu re. Driving on a
significantly und er-inflated tire causes the tire to over-
heat and can lead to tire failu re. Und er-inflation also
red uces fuel efficiency and tire tread life, and may affect
the vehicle’s hand ling and stop ping ability.
