tion in either the ESP or the BAS or both. (See page 259

when the brake fluid level in the master cylind er drop s
below a specified level.

Airba g Warning Light
This light will turn on for 6 to 8 second s as a
bulb check when the ignition switch is first
turned ON. If the light is either not on
during starting, or stays on, or turns on
The light will rem ain on until the cause is corrected .
NOTE: The light may flash momentarily during sharp
cornering maneu vers due to a change in fluid level. If so,
the vehicle shou ld have service perform ed and the brake
fluid level checked .

Brake Syst em Warning Light
This light monitors variou s brake functions,
inclu ding brake fluid level and parking
brake application. If the brake light turns on,
it may ind icate that the parking brake is
applied, that the brake fluid level is low, or that there
is a problem with the anti-lock brake system (if
equ ipped).
Drivin g a veh icle with the brak e ligh t on is danger-
ous. Part of the brak e system may have failed . It will
tak e lon ger to stop the veh icle. You could have an
accid ent. Have the veh icle checked immediately.
Vehicles equ ipped with Anti-Lock brakes (ABS) are also
equ ipped with Electronic Brake Force Distribu tion (EBD).
