A tran sien t high ten sion occurs at the bulb sock ets of
High Inten sity Disch arge (HID) head ligh ts when the
head ligh t switch is turned ON. It may cause seriou s
electrical shock or electrocu tion if not serviced prop -
erly. See you r authorized dealer for service.
Do not tou ch the new bulb with you r fin gers. Oil
contam ination will severely shorten bulb life. If the
bulb comes in contact with an oily surface, clean the
bulb with rubbing alcoh ol.
Low Beam Headlight, High Beam Headlight, and
Park/Turn Light – 300C
NOTE: On vehicles equ ipped with High Intensity Dis-
charge Head lights (HID), when the head lights are turned
on, there is a blue hu e to the lights. This diminishes and
becom es more white after approxim ately 10 second s, as
the system charges.
High Inten sity Disch arge Head ligh ts (HID) — If
Equipped
The head lights are a typ e of high voltage discharge tube.
High voltage can rem ain in the circuit even with the
head light switch off and the key rem oved . Becau se of
this, you should not attem pt to service a head ligh t bulb
you rself. If a head ligh t bulb fails, tak e you r veh icle to
an authorized dealer for service.
1.
Open the hood .
NOTE: Removal of the air cleaner filter hou sing may be
necessary prior to rep lacing bulbs in the head light assem -
bly on the driver side of the vehicle.
2.
Twist the approp riate bulb and socket assem bly
counter-clockw ise, and then pull it out of the head light
assem bly.
3.
Pull the bulb out of the socket assem bly.
