How To Engage The Autom atic Locking Mode
Pregnant women shou ld wear the lap part of the belt
across the thighs and as snu g across the hip s as possible.
Keep the belt low so that it does not come across the
abd omen. That way the strong bones of the hip s will take
the force if there is a collision.

Seat Belt Extender
If a seat belt is too short, even when fully extend ed, and
when the adjustable upper shou lder belt anchorage (if so
equ ipped) is in its lowest position, you r dealer can
provid e you with a seat belt extend er. This extend er
shou ld be used only if the existing belt is not long
enou gh. When it is not requ ired , rem ove the extend er,
and store it.
How To Disen gage The Autom atic Locking Mode
Unbu ckle the combination lap and shou lder belt and
allow it to retract completely to disengage the autom atic
locking mode and activate the vehicle sensitive (emer-
gency) locking mode.
