MAINTAINING YOUR VEHICLE
Add enou gh fluid to bring the level up to the requ ire-
ments described on the brake fluid reservoir. With disc
brakes, fluid level can be expected to fall as the brake
pads wear. However, low fluid level may be caused by a
leak and a checku p may be need ed.
Use only brake fluid that has been in a tightly closed
container to avoid contam ination from foreign matter or
moistu re.
CAUTIO N!
Use only manu factu rer’s recom mend ed brake fluid. Re-
fer to “Fluids, Lubricants, and Genu ine Parts” for the
correct fluid typ e.
Do not allow petroleu m base flu id to contam inate
the brak e flu id, all brak e seal components could be
damaged causin g partial or complete brak e failu re.

Overfillin g the brak e flu id reservoir can resu lt in
spillin g brak e flu id on hot engin e parts and the
brak e flu id catch ing fire.
Fluid Level Check
Regu lar autom atic transm ission fluid level checks are not
requ ired . For this reason, the dipstick is omitted .
Use of a brak e flu id that has a low er initial boilin g
poin t than the recom mended MOPAR DOT 3
prod uct or a brak e flu id that is unidentified as to
FMVSS specification may resu lt in sudden brak e
failu re durin g hard prolon ged brak ing. You could
have an accid ent.
If you notice fluid loss or gear shift malfunction, have
you r authorized dealer check the transm ission fluid level.
