Loose Fuel Filler Cap Message
VEHICLE LOADING
The load carrying capacity of you r vehicle is show n on
inform ation
shou ld be used for passenger and luggage load ing as
ind icated .
If the vehicle diagnostic system determ ines that the fuel
filler cap is loose, improp erly installed , or damaged , a
“Check Gascap ” message will display in the Electronic
Vehicle Inform ation Center (EVIC) — if equ ipped. If this
occurs, tighten the fuel filler cap prop erly and press the
odometer reset button to turn off the message. If the
problem continu es, the message will appear the next time
the vehicle is started .

exceed the specified GVWR and GAWR.

Your vehicle has a certification label attached to the rear
of the driver’s door.
A loose, improp erly installed , or damaged fuel filler cap
may also turn on the Malfu nction Ind icator Light (MIL).

manu al for more inform ation.
