NOTE: To control the air cond itioning manu ally, the
Operating Tips
mode selector must be moved out of the AUTO position.
NOTE: Refer to the chart at the end of this section for
suggested control settings for variou s weather cond i-
tions.

Recircula tion Cont rol
This button can be used to block out smoke,
odors, dust, high hu midity, or if rap id cooling
is desired . The recircu lation mode shou ld only
be used tem porarily. An LED in the button
illuminates when the recircu lation mode is active. You
may use this featu re separately.
Summer Operation
The engine cooling system in air-cond itioned vehicles
must be protected with a high-qu ality antifreeze coolant
to provid e prop er corrosion protection and to protect
against engine overheating. A 50% solu tion of ethylene
glycol antifreeze coolant in water is recom mend ed. Refer
to “Maintenance Proced ures” in Section 7 of this manu al
for prop er coolant selection.
NOTE: Extend ed use of recircu lation may cause the
wind ows to fog. If the interior of the wind ows begins to
fog, press the Recircu lation button to retu rn to outsid e
air. Some tem p/ hu midity cond itions will cause captured
interior air to cond ense on wind ows and ham per visibil-
ity. For this reason, the system will not allow Recircu la-
tion to be selected while in defrost or defrost/ floor mode.
Attem pting to use the recircu lation while in these modes
will cause the LED in the control button to blink and then
turn off.
Win ter Operation
Use of the air Recircu lation mode during winter months
is not recom mend ed becau se it may cause wind ow
fogging.
Vacation Storage
Anytim e you store you r vehicle, or keep it out of service
(i.e. vacation) for two weeks or more, run the air cond i-
tioning system at idle for abou t five minu tes in the fresh
air and high blow er setting. This will insu re adequ ate
