STARTING AND OPERATING
NOTE: The compact spare tire (if so equ ipped) does not
have a tire pressu re monitoring sensor. Therefore, the
TPMS will not monitor the pressu re in the compact spare
tire. However, if you install the compact spare tire in
place of a road tire that has a pressu re below the
low-pressu re warning limit, the Tire Pressu re Monitoring
Telltale Light will rem ain ON and a chim e will still sou nd
each ignition key cycle. In addition, the EVIC will still
display a low-pressu re message and a flashing pressu re
valu e in the grap hic display. Once you rep air or rep lace
the original road tire, and reinstall it on the vehicle in
place of the compact spare, the TPMS will update auto-
matically. In addition, the Tire Pressu re Monitoring Tell-
tale Light will turn OFF, and the grap hic in the EVIC will
stop flashing and display a new pressu re valu e, as long
no tire pressu re is below the low-pressu re warning limit
in any of the four active road tires. The vehicle may need
to be driven for up to 10 minu tes above 15 mph (25
km/ h) in ord er for the TPMS to receive this inform ation.
