UNDERSTANDING THE FEATURES OF YOUR VEHICLE
Automatic Headlights–If equipped
(EVIC) — If equ ipped. Refer to ”Head lamps On With
Wipers” in the Electronic Vehicle Inform ation Center
section of this manu al for details.
This system autom atically turns you r head lights ON or
OFF based on ambient light levels. To turn the system
ON, rotate the head lamp switch counter-clockw ise to the
AUTO (A) position. When the system is ON, the Head -
light Time Delay featu re is also ON. This means you r
head lights will stay ON for up to 90 second s after you
turn the ignition switch OFF. To turn the Autom atic
System OFF, move the head lamp switch out of the AUTO
(A) position.
Daytime Running Lights (Canada Only)
The high beam head lights will come on as Daytim e
Running Lights whenever the ignition switch is on, the
head lights are off, and the parking brake is off. The
head light switch must be used for norm al night time
driving.
Lights-on Reminder
NOTE: The engine must be running before the head -
lights will come ON in the Autom atic mode.
If the head lights or parking lights are on after the ignition
is turned OFF, a chim e will sou nd to alert the driver
when the driver’s door is opened .
Headlamps On With Wipers (Available with Auto
Headlights Only)
Headlight Time Delay
The head lights will turn on approxim ately 10 second s
after the wipers are turned on if the head light switch is
placed in the AUTO position. The head lights will also
turn off when the wipers are turned off if they were
turned on by this featu re. This featu re can be turned on or
off using the Electronic Vehicle Inform ation Center
This featu re provid es the safety of head light illumination
for 90 second s (program mable) when leaving you r ve-
hicle in an unlighted area.
