UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL
Mode Selection
Floor
The mode selector (the right rotary
knob) can be placed in several posi-
tions. Dots betw een each of the mode
selections identify interm ediate modes
that allow the occupants to fine tune
airflow distribu tion.
Air flows throu gh the floor outlets located und er
the instru ment panel and into the rear seating
area throu gh vents und er the front seats.
Bi-Level
Air flows both throu gh the outlets located in the
instru ment panel and those located on the floor.
Air flows throu gh the registers in the back of the
center console to the rear seat passengers. These
registers can be closed to partially block airflow.
Defrost
Air is directed to the wind shield throu gh the
outlets at the base of the wind shield . Air is also
directed to the front door wind ows throu gh the side
wind ow demister grilles.
Panel
Air flows throu gh the outlets located in the instru -
ment panel. Air flows throu gh the registers in the
back of the center console to the rear seat passengers.
These registers can be closed to block airflow.
NOTE: To improve fuel econom y, leave in defrost only
when necessary.
Defrost /Floor
Recircula tion
Air flows throu gh the front and rear floor outlets
and the outlets at the base of the wind shield . Air
is also directed to the front door wind ows
throu gh the side wind ow demister grilles.
The recircu lation featu re can be selected with
the mode control knob. You may choose
betw een Bi-Level Recircu lation and Panel
Recircu lation air outlets while in this mode.
Norm ally, air enters from outsid e the vehicle. How-
ever, when in Recircu lation mode air insid e the vehicle
