Belts shou ld be insp ected for evid ence of cuts, cracks,
glazing, or frayed cord s and rep laced if there is ind ication
of damage which could resu lt in belt failu re. Low gen-
erator belt tension can cause battery failu re.
Engine Oil Filter
The engine oil filter shou ld be rep laced at every engine
oil change.
Also check belt rou ting to make sure there is no interfer-
ence betw een the belts and other engine components.
Engin e Oil Filter Selection
This manu factu re’s engines have a full-flow typ e oil filter.
Use a filter of this typ e for rep lacem ent. The quality of
rep lacem ent filters varies consid erably. Only high quality
filters shou ld be used to assu re most efficient service.
Mop ar Engine Oil Filters are a high quality oil filter and
are recom mend ed.
Spark Plugs
Spark plugs must fire prop erly to assu re engine perfor-

stalled at the specified mileage. The entire set shou ld be
rep laced if there is any malfunction due to a faulty spark
plug. Malfu nctioning spark plugs can damage the cata- 7
lytic converter. For prop er typ e of rep lacem ent spark
plugs, refer to the “Vehicle Emission Control Inform a-
tion” label in the engine compartm ent.
Drive Belts — Check Condition and Tensioner
Belt tension is controlled by means of an autom atic
tensioner. No belt tension adjustm ents are requ ired .
However, belt and belt tensioner cond ition shou ld be
insp ected at the specified intervals, and rep laced if re-
quired . See you r authorized dealer for service.

Und er norm al driving cond itions, rep lace the air filter at
the intervals show n on Sched ule “A”. If, how ever, you
drive the vehicle frequ ently und er dusty or severe con-
