Winter Operation

Outside Air Intake
Make sure the air intake, located directly in front of the
wind shield , is free of obstru ctions such as leaves. Leaves
collected in the air intake may red uce airflow and if they
enter the plenu m they could plug the water drains. In 4
winter months make sure the air intake is clear of ice,
slush and snow.
NOTE: See Operating Tips chart (for Manu al A/ C
Control) at the end of this section for suggested control
settings in different weather cond itions.
Vacation Storage
Anytim e you store you r vehicle, or keep it out of service
(i.e. vacation) for two weeks or more, run the air cond i-
tioning system at idle for abou t five minu tes in the fresh
air and high blow er setting. This will insu re adequ ate
system lubrication to minim ize the possibility of com-
pressor damage when the system is started again.
A/C Air Filter — If Equipped
The climate control system filters outsid e air containing
dust, pollen and som e odors. Strong odors cannot be
totally filtered out. Refer to “Maintenance Proced ures” in
you r Owner’s Manu al for filter rep lacem ent instru ctions.
Window Fogging
Interior fogging on the wind shield can be quickly re-
moved by turning the mode selector to Defrost. The
Defrost/ Floor mode can be used to maintain a clear
wind shield and provid e sufficient heating. If side win-
dow fogging becom es a problem increase blow er speed .
Vehicle wind ows tend to fog on the insid e in mild but
rainy or hu mid weather.
