Seat Belts and Pregnant Women
We recom mend that pregnant women use the seat belts
throu ghou t their pregnancy. Keeping the mother safe is
the best way to keep the baby safe.
Pregnant women shou ld wear the lap part of the belt
across the thighs and as snu g across the hip s as possible.
Keep the belt low so that it does not come across the
abd omen. That way the strong bones of the hip s will take
the force if there is a collision.
WARN ING!
Usin g a seat belt exten der when not need ed can
increase the risk of injury in a collision . Only use
when the seat belt is not lon g enough when it is
worn low and snug, and in the recom mended seatin g
position s. Rem ove and store the exten der when not
need ed.
