the variance mode and release the button when the VAR
sym bol appears. The current variance valu e will also be
displayed . To change the zone, press the left button once
to increm ent the zone. The defau lt is Zone 8. After Zone
15,
the valu es will wrap arou nd to Zone 1. When the
correct zone is displayed (per the Com pass Variance
Zone Map ) for the zone that the vehicle is located in, wait
for abou t five second s; then the trip computer will store
the variance valu e in memory and the compass will
resu me norm al operation.
NOTE: The U.S./ Metric display will change from En-
glish to Metric or Metric to English before the VAR
sym bol appears, how ever, it will revert back to its
original setting after program ming the compass func-
tions.
Com pass Varian ce Map
Outsid e Temperatu re
If the outsid e tem peratu re is more than 131°F (55°C), the
display will show 131°F (55°C). When the outsid e tem -
peratu re is less than Ϫ40°F (Ϫ40°C), the display will
show Ϫ40°F (Ϫ40°C).
