Power Steering Fluid Check
WARN ING!
Checking the power steering fluid level at a defined
service interval is not requ ired . The fluid shou ld only be
checked if a leak is suspected , abnorm al noises are
apparent, and / or the system is not functioning as antici-
pated . Coord inate insp ection efforts throu gh an autho-
rized dealer.
Fluid level should be checked on a level surface and
with the engin e off to preven t injury from movin g
parts and to ensure accurate flu id level read ing. Do
not overfill. Use only manufactu rer’s recom mended
power steerin g flu id.
CAUTIO N!
If necessary, add fluid to restore to the prop er ind icated
level. With a clean cloth, wipe any spilled fluid from all
surfaces. Refer to “Fluids, Lubricants, and Genu ine
Parts” in Section 7 for the correct fluid typ e.
Do not use chemical flu shes in you r power steerin g
system as the chemicals can damage you r power
steerin g components. Such damage is not covered by
the New Vehicle Limited Warran ty.
