WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES
HAZARD WARNING FLASHER
IF YOUR ENGINE OVERHEATS

NEUTRAL, but do not increase engine idle speed .
This is an emergency warning system and shou ld not be
used when the vehicle is in motion. Use it when you r
vehicle is disabled and is creating a safety hazard for
other motorists.
CAUTIO N!
Drivin g with a hot coolin g system could damage
you r veh icle. If the tem peratu re gau ge read s HOT
(H), pull over and stop the veh icle. Idle the veh icle
with the air condition er turned off until the poin ter
drop s back into the norm al ran ge. If the poin ter
rem ain s on HOT (H), and you hear contin uous
chimes, turn the engin e off immediately, and call for
service.
If it is necessary to leave the vehicle to go for service, the
Hazard Warning flasher will continu e to operate with the
ignition key rem oved and the vehicle locked .
NOTE: With extend ed use, the Hazard Warning flasher
may wear down you r battery.
