Shift the autom atic transm ission into PARK, or a
WARN ING!
manu al transm ission into REVERSE.
Carefu lly follow these tire changin g warn ings to
help preven t person al injury or damage to you r
veh icle:

Turn the ignition to LOCK.
Turn on the Hazard Warning flasher.

Alw ays park on a firm , level surface as far from
the edge of the road way as possib le before raisin g
the veh icle.
Block the wheel diagon ally opposite the wheel to
be raised .
Set the park ing brak e firm ly and set an autom atic
tran smission in PARK; a manual tran smission in
REVERSE.

Block both the front and rear of the
wheel diagonally opposite of the jack-
ing position. For exam ple, if changing
the right front tire, block the left rear
wheel.
