The infant carrier is only used rearw ard -facing in the
vehicle. It is recom mend ed for child ren who weigh up
to abou t 20 lbs (9 kg). “Convertible” child seats often
have a higher weight limit in the rearw ard -facing
direction than infant carriers do, so they can be used
rearw ard -facing by child ren who weigh more than
WARN ING!
• Improp er installation can lead to failu re of an
infan t or child restrain t. It could come loose in a 2
collision . The child could be badly injured or
killed . Follow the manufactu rer’s direction s ex-
actly when installin g an infan t or child restrain t.
A rearw ard -facin g infan t restrain t should only be
used in a rear seat. A rearw ard -facin g infan t re-
strain t in the fron t seat may be stru ck by a deploy-
ing passen ger airb ag which may cause severe or
fatal injury to the infan t.

airbag unless the airbag is turned off. An airbag
deploym ent could cause severe injury or death to
infants in this position.
