Downshifting
When descen ding a hill, be very carefu l to downshift
one gear at a tim e to preven t oversp eed ing the engin e
which can cause valve damage, and/or clutch disc
damage, even if the clutch pedal is pressed .
Moving from a high gear down to a lower gear is
recom mend ed to preserve brakes when driving down
steep hills. In addition, downshifting at the right time
provid es better acceleration when you desire to resu me
speed . Dow nshift progressively. Do not skip gears to
avoid oversp eed ing the engine and clutch.
