THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
Rear Center Lap/Shoulder Belt Retractor Lockout
(Four-Door Models Only)
WARN ING!
This featu re is designed to lock the retractor whenever
the 60% rear seatback is not fully latched . This prevents
som eone from wearing the rear center lap/ shou lder belt
when the rear seatback is not fully latched .
The rear center lap /sh oulder belt is equipped with a
lock -out featu re to ensure that the rear seatb ack is in
the fully uprigh t and lock ed position when occupied .
If the rear seatb ack is not fully uprigh t and lock ed
and the rear center lap /sh oulder belt can be pulled
out of the retractor, the veh icle should immediately
be tak en to you r authorized dealer for service. Failu re
to follow this warn ing could resu lt in seriou s or fatal
injury.
NOTE:
•
If the rear center lap/ shou lder belt cannot be pulled
out, check that the rear seatback is fully latched .
•
If the rear seatback is prop erly latched and the rear
center lap/ shou lder belt still cannot be pulled out, the
Autom atic-Locking Retractor (ALR) system may be
activated . To reset this featu re you must let all of the
belt webbing retu rn into the retractor. You will not be
able to pull out more webbing until all of the webbing
has been retu rned back into the retractor.
