STARTING AND OPERATING
The ESP system has three available operating modes in ESP function norm ally. This mode is intend ed to be used
4H range. The system has one operating mode in 4L if the vehicle is in deep snow, sand , or gravel cond itions
range. Two-wheel drive vehicles and four-wheel drive and more wheel spin than ESP would norm ally allow is

tarily press the ESP OFF switch. This will restore the
norm al “ESP On” mode of operation.
4H Ran ge (4WD Models) or 2WD Models
On
This is the norm al operating mode for ESP in 4H and
2WD vehicles. Whenever the vehicle is started or the
transfer case (if equ ipped) is shifted from 4L range or
NEUTRAL back to 4H range, the ESP system will be in
this mode. This mode shou ld be used for most all driving
situ ations. The ESP shou ld only be turned to “Partial Off”
or “Full Off” for specific reasons as noted below.
Partial Off
This mode is entered by momentarily pressing the ESP
OFF switch. When in ЉPartial OffЉ mode, the TCS portion
of ESP has been disabled and the “ESP/ TCS Ind icator
Light” will be illuminated . All other stability featu res of
ESP OFF Switch
