Shut the engine off and place the ignition key into the
CAUTIO N!
It is necessary to follow these step s to be certain that
the tran sfer case is fully in N (Neutral) before recre-
ation al tow ing to preven t damage to intern al parts.

Shift the autom atic transm ission into PARK.
10. Apply the parking brake.

Attach the vehicle to the tow vehicle with the tow bar.
Release the parking brake.

Turn the engine off.

Press the brake pedal.
Disconnect the negative battery cable, and secure it

press the clutch pedal on a manu al transm ission.
Shift the autom atic transm ission into NEUTRAL or
away from the negative battery post.

Shift the transfer case lever into N (Neutral).
Start the engine.
Shift the autom atic transm ission into DRIVE or the
manu al transm ission into gear.
