STARTING AND OPERATING
Tip Start Featu re — Autom atic Transmission Only
Turn the ignition switch to the START position and
release it as soon as the starter engages. The starter motor
will continu e to run, but will autom atically disengage
itself when the engine is running. If the engine fails to
start, the starter will disengage autom atically in 10 sec-
ond s. If this occurs, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK
position, wait 10 to 15 second s, then rep eat the “Norm al
Starting” proced ure.
If Engine Fails to Start

Never pour fuel or oth er flam mable liq uids into
the throttle body air inlet opening in an attem pt to
start the veh icle. This could resu lt in a flash fire
causin g seriou s person al injury.

Extreme Cold Weather (below –20°F or –29°C)
To ensu re reliable starting at these tem peratu res, use of
an externally-p owered electric engine block heater (avail-
able from you r authorized dealer) is recom mend ed.
