buttonandtheenginecranksautomatically until
itstarts.Ifthebattery inthekeylessaccess
transmitter isweak,theDICdisplays KEYFOB
BATTERYLOW.Youcanstilldrivethevehicle.
Toplacethetransmission inthepropergear:
MovetheshiftlevertoP(Park)orN(Neutral). Torestart
theenginewhenthevehicleisalreadymoving,use
N(Neutral).

information. Ifthefobbatteryisdead,youneedto
insertthefobintothefobslottoenableengine
starting. See“NoFobsDetected”underDIC

Notice: DonottrytoshifttoP(Park)ifthevehicle
ismoving.Ifyoudo,youcoulddamagethe
transmission. ShifttoP(Park)onlywhenthevehicle
isstopped.
Thekeylessaccesstransmitter mustbeinsidethe
vehiclefortheignition towork.

Donotracetheengineimmediately afterstarting it.
Operatetheengineandtransmission gentlyuntil
theoilwarmsupandlubricates allmovingparts.
Cellphonechargerscaninterfere withtheoperation of
theKeylessAccessSystem.Batterychargers should
notbepluggedinwhenstarting orturningoffthe
engine.
IftheenginedoesnotstartandnoDICmessageis
displayed, wait15secondsbeforetryingagainto
letthecranking motorcooldown.
Tostartthevehicle, dothefollowing:
Iftheenginedoesnotstartafter5-10seconds,
especially inverycoldweather(below0°F
or−18°C),itcouldbefloodedwithtoomuch
gasoline. Trypushingtheaccelerator pedalall
thewaytothefloorwhilecranking forupto
15secondsmaximum.
StartingProcedure
1.
Withyourfootonthebrakepedal,pressthe
STARTbuttonlocatedontheinstrument panel.
Ifthereisnotakeylessaccesstransmitter in
thevehicleorifthereissomething causing
interference withit,theDICwilldisplayNOFOBS
DETECTED. SeeDICWarningsandMessages on
page 4‑76 formoreinformation.
