soonaspossible, andinflatethemtotheproper
pressure. Drivingonasignificantly under‐inflated tire
causesthetiretooverheatandcanleadtotirefailure.
Under‐inflation alsoreducesfuelefficiency andtire
treadlife,andmayaffectthevehicle's handling and
stopping ability.
Whenthemalfunction indicator isilluminated, the
systemmaynotbeabletodetectorsignallowtire
pressure asintended. TPMSmalfunctions mayoccur
foravarietyofreasons, including theinstallation of
replacement oralternate tiresorwheelsonthevehicle
thatpreventtheTPMSfromfunctioning properly.
AlwayschecktheTPMSmalfunction telltale after
replacing oneormoretiresorwheelsonyourvehicleto
ensurethatthereplacement oralternate tiresand
wheelsallowtheTPMStocontinue tofunction properly.
PleasenotethattheTPMSisnotasubstitute forproper
tiremaintenance, anditisthedriver's responsibility to
maintaincorrect tirepressure, evenifunder‐inflation
hasnotreachedtheleveltotriggerillumination ofthe
TPMSlowtirepressuretelltale.

Yourvehiclehasalsobeenequipped withaTPMS
malfunction indicator toindicate whenthesystemisnot
operating properly.TheTPMSmalfunction indicator is
combinedwiththelowtirepressure telltale. Whenthe
systemdetectsamalfunction, thetelltale willflashfor
approximately oneminuteandthenremaincontinuously
illuminated. Thissequence willcontinue upon
subsequent vehiclestart‐upsaslongasthemalfunction
exists.
