BrakeSystemWarningLight
Whentheignitionison,thebrakesystemwarninglight
alsocomesonwhentheparkingbrakeisset.Thelight
willstayoniftheparkingbrakedoesnotreleasefully.
Ifitstaysonaftertheparkingbrakeisfullyreleased,      it
meansthereisabrakeproblem.
Thevehicle's hydraulic brakesystemisdividedintotwo
parts.Ifonepartisnotworking,    theotherpartcanstill
workandstopthevehicle.   Forgoodbrakingbothparts
needtobeworking.
Ifthelightcomesonwhiledriving,    pullofftheroadand
stopcarefully.Thepedalmaybehardertopush,orthe
pedalmaygoclosertothefloor.Itmaytakelongerto
stop.Ifthelightisstillon,havethevehicletowedfor
service. SeeTowingYourVehicleonpage5‑29.
Ifthewarninglightcomeson,thereisabrakeproblem.
Havethebrakesysteminspected   rightaway.

thebrakesystemwarninglightison.Drivingwith
thebrakesystemwarninglightoncanleadtoa
crash.Ifthelightisstillonafterthevehiclehas
beenpulledofftheroadandcarefully    stopped,
havethevehicletowedforservice.

Thislightcomesonbrieflywhentheengineisturned
on.Ifitdoesnotcomeonthen,haveitfixedsoitwillbe
readytowarnifthereisaproblem.
