friction wherethetiresmeettheroadtodowhatthe
driverhasasked.
Iftheleveloftheshoulder isonlyslightly belowthe
pavement, recovery shouldbefairlyeasy.Easeoffthe
accelerator andthen,ifthereisnothingintheway,steer
sothatthevehiclestraddles theedgeofthepavement.
Turnthesteeringwheel8to13cm(3to5inches),
aboutone-eighth turn,untiltherightfronttirecontacts
thepavementedge.Thenturnthesteeringwheeltogo
straight downtheroadway.
Inanyemergency,donotgiveup.Keeptryingtosteer
andconstantly seekanescaperouteorareaofless
danger.
