Theentrylighting systemturnsonthereadingand
domelampsandthebacklighting totheexterior lamp
controlwhenadoorisopenedorifyoupressthe
remotekeylessentrytransmitter unlockbutton.
Ifactivated bythetransmitter,thelighting willremain
activeforabout25seconds.Theentrylighting system
usesthelightsensor;itmustbedarkoutsideinorder
forthelampstoturnon.Thelampsturnoffabout
Thereadinglampsarelocatedontheoverhead
console. Theselampscomeonautomatically whenany
doorisopened.
Formanualoperation, pressthebuttonnexttoeach
lamptoturnitonoroff.
Ifthereadinglampsarelefton,theyautomatically shut
off10minutesaftertheignition hasbeenturnedoff.

Thebattery loadmanagement featureisdesignedto
monitorthevehicle's electrical loadanddetermine when
thebatteryisinaheavydischarge condition. During
timesofhighelectrical loading, theenginemayidleata
higherrevolutionsperminute(rpm)settingthannormal
tomakesurethebattery charges. Highelectrical loads
mayoccurwhenseveralofthefollowing areon:
headlamps, highbeams,foglamps,rearwindow
defogger,theclimatecontrolfanathighspeeds,
heatedseatsandenginecoolingfans.
ParadeDimming
Thisfeatureprohibits dimmingoftheinstrument panel
displays andbacklighting duringdaylight hourswhen
thekeyisintheignitionandtheheadlamps areon.
Thisfeatureoperateswiththelightsensorandisfully
automatic. Whenthelightsensorreadsdarkness
outsideandtheparkinglampsareactive,theinstrument
paneldisplays canbeadjusted byturningthe
instrument panelbrightness knob.SeeInstrument Panel

Ifthebatterycontinues todischarge, evenwiththe
engineidlingatahigherrpmsetting, someelectrical
loadswillautomatically bereduced. Whenthisoccurs,
therearwindowdefogger maytakeslightly longerto
cleartheglassandthefanmaycutbacktoalower
