Alabelonthesunvisorsays,“Neverputarear-facing
childseatinthefront.”Thisisbecausetherisktothe
rear-facing childissogreat,iftheairbagdeploys.

Pushandpullthechildrestraint indifferent
directions tobesureitissecure.
Achildinarear-facing childrestraint canbe
seriously injuredorkillediftherightfront
passenger airbaginflates. Thisisbecausethe
backoftherear-facing childrestraint wouldbe
veryclosetotheinflating airbag.Achildina
forward-facing childrestraint canbeseriously
injuredorkillediftherightfrontpassenger airbag
inflatesandthepassenger seatisinaforward
position.
Toremovethechildrestraint, unbuckle thevehicle
safetybeltandletitreturntothestowedposition.
Ifthetoptetherisattached toatoptetheranchor,
disconnect it.
SecuringaChildRestraintinthe
RightFrontSeatPosition
Thisvehiclehasairbags. Arearseatisasaferplaceto
secureaforward-facing childrestraint. SeeWhereto

Evenifthepassenger sensingsystemhasturned
offtherightfrontpassenger frontalairbag,no
systemisfail-safe. Noonecanguarantee thatan
airbagwillnotdeployundersomeunusual
circumstance, eventhoughitisturnedoff.
Inaddition, thevehiclehasapassenger sensingsystem
whichisdesignedtoturnofftherightfrontpassenger
frontalairbagundercertainconditions. SeePassenger
