caninterfere withsatellite radiosignals, causingthe
soundtofadeinandout.Inaddition, traveling or
standing underheavyfoliage, bridges, garages,
ortunnelsmaycauselossoftheXMsignalfora
periodoftime.

especially atnight.Thelongerrangecancausestation
frequencies tointerfere witheachother.Forbetterradio
reception, mostAMradiostations boostthepower
levelsduringtheday,andthenreducetheselevels
duringthenight.Staticcanalsooccurwhenthingslike
stormsandpowerlinesinterfere withradioreception.

CellularPhoneUsage
Cellular phoneusagemaycauseinterference withthe
vehicle's radio.Thisinterference mayoccurwhen
makingorreceiving phonecalls,charging the
phone'sbattery,orsimplyhavingthephoneon.This
interference causesanincreased levelofstaticwhile
listening totheradio.Ifstaticisreceived whilelistening
totheradio,unplugthecellular phoneandturnitoff.

FMsignalsonlyreachabout10to40miles

to65km).Although theradiohasabuilt-in electronic
circuitthatautomatically workstoreduceinterference,
somestaticcanoccur,especially aroundtallbuildings
orhills,causingthesoundtofadeinandout.
