OverheatedEngineProtection
OperatingMode
Thisoperating modeallowsyourvehicletobedrivento
asafeplaceinanemergency.Shouldanoverheated
enginecondition exist,anoverheat protection mode
whichalternates firinggroupsofcylinders helpsprevent
enginedamage.Inthismode,youwillnoticealossin
powerandengineperformance. Anengineoverheat
warningwillindicate thatanoverheatcondition exists.
Drivingextended miles(km)and/ortowingatrailerin
theoverheatprotection modeshouldbeavoided.
Ifthewarningcontinues, pullover,stop,andparkthe
vehiclerightaway.
Ifthereisnosignofsteam,idletheenginefor
threeminuteswhileparked.Ifthewarningisstill
displayed, turnofftheengineuntilitcoolsdown.Also,

Notice: Afterdrivingintheoverheated engine
protection operating mode,toavoidenginedamage,
allowtheenginetocoolbeforeattempting any
repair.Theengineoilwillbeseverely degraded.
