ToenabletheSystem,turntheexterior lampcontrolto
AUTO,withtheturnsignal/multifunction leverinits
starting position. TheHigh-Beam OnLightappearson
theinstrument panelclusterwhenthehigh-beams are
on.SeeHighbeamOnLight on page 4‑68.Thevehicle
hasvariableintensity high-beams. Thehigh-beam
indicator ontheinstrument panelclustercomeson
assoonasthehigh-beams starttocomeon,and
remainsonuntilthehigh-beams havecompletely
turnedoff.VehicleswithIntelliBeam quicklyturnoffthe
high-beams ifthesystemdetectsthesuddenpresence
ofvehiclelightsahead.
Wheneitheroftheseconditions occur,the
IntelliBeam featureistemporarily disabled untilthe
high-beam stalkisreturnedtoitsstarting position.
Ifeitheroftheseconditions occurandIntelliBeam
alreadyhasthehigh-beam headlamps on,the
featureisdisabled andthelightinthemirror
turnsoff.

exceptAUTO.
DrivingwithIntelliBeam
Whenthisoccurs,IntelliBeam isdisabled untilthe
controlisturnedbacktotheAUTOposition and
theAUTOMATICLIGHTSONmessagedisplays
ontheDIC.
IntelliBeam onlyactivates thehigh-beams whendriving
over32km/h(20mph).
Thehigh-beam headlamps remainon,underthecontrol
ofIntelliBeam, untilanyofthefollowing situations occur:
