Ifshifting isprevented foranyreason,theselected gear
willflashmultipletimes,indicating thatthetransmission
hasnotshiftedgears.
Iftheignition ison,thebrakesystemwarninglighton
theinstrument panelclustershouldcomeon.Ifitdoes
not,youneedtohavethevehicleserviced. SeeBrake
SystemWarningLight on page 4‑58 formore
information.
Thetransmission willallowyoutoshifttothegear
selected andwillautomatically downshift whenthe
vehiclecomestoastop.Thiswillallowformorepower
duringtake-offandpassing.
Toreleasetheparkingbrake,holdthebrakepedal
down,thenpushtheparkingbrakepedal.Whenyou
releasetheparkbrakepedal,theparkingbrake
releases.

Notice: Drivingwiththeparkingbrakeoncan
overheatthebrakesystemandcausepremature
wearordamagetobrakesystemparts.Makesure
thattheparkingbrakeisfullyreleased andthe
brakewarninglightisoffbeforedriving.
Theparkingbrakepedal
islocatedonthelower
portionoftheinstrument
paneltotheleftofthe
steering wheel.
Awarningchimewillsoundiftheparkingbrakeisset,
theignitionisonandthevehiclebeginstomove.
Tostopthechime,fullyreleasetheparkingbrake.
