Withthecoolantsurgetankpressure capoff,start
theengineandletitrununtilyoucanfeelthe
upperradiatorhosegettinghot.Theupperradiator
hoseisthelargestofthehoseswhichcomesout
oftheradiator,onthepassenger sideofthe
vehicle. Watchoutfortheenginecoolingfans.
Iftheengineisoverheating, thenyouwillfindacoolant
temperature gageandacoolantwarninglightonthe
instrument panel.SeeEngineCoolantTemperature
Gage on page 4‑61 andEngineCoolantTemperature
WarningLight on page 4‑61 formoreinformation.
Youmaydecidenottoliftthehoodwhenthiswarning
appears, butinsteadgetservicehelprightaway.

Bythistime,thecoolantlevelinsidethecoolant
surgetankmaybelower.Ifthelevelislower,add
moreofthepropermixturetothecoolantsurge
tankuntilthelevelreachestheFULLCOLD/FROID
lineonthesideofthecoolantsurgetank.
Ifyoudodecidetoliftthehood,makesurethevehicle
isparkedonalevelsurface.
Thenchecktoseeiftheenginecoolingfansare
running. Iftheengineisoverheating, bothfansshould
berunning. Iftheyarenot,donotcontinue torunthe
engineandhavethevehicleserviced.
5.
Thenreplacethepressure cap.Besurethe
pressure capishand-tight andfullyseated.
Starttheengineandallowittowarmup.
Notice: Enginedamagefromrunningyourengine
withoutcoolantisnotcoveredbyyourwarranty.
