Whensecuring anadd-onchildrestraint, refertothe
instructions thatcomewiththerestraint whichmaybe
ontherestraint itselforinabooklet,orboth,andtothis
manual.Thechildrestraint instructions areimportant,
soiftheyarenotavailable, obtainareplacement copy
fromthemanufacturer.
{WARNING:
Keepinmindthatanunsecured childrestraint can
movearoundinacollision orsuddenstopandinjure
peopleinthevehicle. Besuretoproperly secureany
childrestraint inthevehicle —evenwhennochild
isinit.
Achildcanbeseriously injuredorkilledinacrash
ifthechildrestraint isnotproperly securedinthe
vehicle. Securethechildrestraint properly inthe
vehicleusingthevehicle's safetybeltorLATCH
system,following theinstructions thatcamewith
thatchildrestraint andtheinstructions inthis
manual.
SecuringtheChildWithinthe
ChildRestraint
Tohelpreducethechanceofinjury,thechildrestraint
mustbesecuredinthevehicle. Childrestraint systems
mustbesecuredinvehicleseatsbylapbeltsorthelap
beltportionofalap-shoulder belt,orbytheLATCH
system.SeeLowerAnchorsandTethersforChildren
(LATCH)on page 2‑39 formoreinformation. Achild
canbeendangered inacrashifthechildrestraint isnot
properly securedinthevehicle.
